TN Number in Kannada

Bamboozling... TN Number in Kannada

While heading back home late night this Yamaha in front of me caught my sight by surprise… What’s so unique? On contemplating I could sense that it’s actually a TN bike but may be he had not paid Road Tax in Karnataka and to escape from the traffic cops this guy had put the registration number in Kannada or my theory is all wrong. But, really an intellectual – Kudos to this guy 🙂

Unplanned but memorable

with 12 comments

Sometimes you plan certain events but they won’t give you much excitement or even may turn sour. Like  planned event unplanned events too may turn exciting, refreshing and even most memorable sometimes. One such memorable and refreshing event was International Friendship Day celebrations I’d with my small group of friends. And luck strikes again on the blissful day ‘ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ದಿನ’ (Nov 1 – Kannada Rajyothsava day). Nov 1st marks the beginning of ‘Kannada Rajyothsava’ and extends throughout the November month and is celebrated with much fervor and liveliness throughout Karnataka.

We didn’t had any special plans for the day but since it happened to be weekend we just planned for a movie. Again Nitin was our event-manager; he was responsible for deciding the Movie and a nearby Threate and then convey the same to everyone in the group. Since it was ‘Kannada Rajyothsava’ too nobody in the group were sure whether theatres were screening non-kannada movies. Nitin took the initiative to call the theatre and find out whether Hindi movies were played on the day. Since nobody at the theatre didn’t answer his phone call he went to sleep without informing anyone – Thanks to his acuteness 😦 And we were in illusion that he was working out the plan 🙂 Rajesh our busy body for the month (he’s getting married this 14th. You know how life will be busy during this transition period) called up to ask about the plan and was too frustrated cos our event-manager didn’t answer is phone calls 🙂 I too started calling him up and luckily his wife (Shilpi) picked my call. Gods grace things started ticking again from where they abruptly halted after his sleepy break :-0

He outlined a simple plan: Movie – Golmaal Returns, Theatre – Sagar in majestic area and Timing – 7:30 PM show. Everyone in the group were informed Read the rest of this entry »

An offense

It’s not new that Bengaluru (commonly known as Bangalore) Infrastructure has not been able to cope with abrupt increase in vehicular traffic. It’s very common to see potholes on most of the roads in Bengaluru. In tandem with this even the motorists have no driving sense. Everybody is in hurry to reach their destination and have less patience to bear others on road.

In such circumstances it’s quite common to see small vehicles like Mopeds, Two wheelers either driving on pavement or crossing over the road divider (Median). To admit even I used to do such non-civic things in the past but not anymore these days – I’m more civilized now ;-p

I pass through Intermediate Ring road everyday to reach my workplace. The outer ring road has two U-turns; one under Indiranagar flyover and the other near the military training school entrance. This means anyone who wishes to go the other way has to drive this approximately 1/2 km distance to come on the other side of the road. Obviously it seems painful to many to drive this extra 1/2 km distance just to reach the same point but on other side of the road. Cars drivers are left with no choice, they will have to cover this distance. But exceptional is the case for two wheelers. No, No, I’m not saying Read the rest of this entry »

One more bomb blast in Bangalore (Bengaluru)

leave a comment »

In the wake of recent series of Bomb Blast there has been one more Crude Bomb Blast between 12:00 PM to 01:30 PM in Hoysalanagar, Bangalore. The blast has been report of low intensity and there has not been much damages, including human lives.

It’s not yet confirmed whether it’s similar incident like the one happened on 25st July 2008 or something else like a recent Steam Boiler blast in downtown Bangalore. The incident has been reported on portal.

Update 1 (08 Aug 2008): Strangely even after so many hours (09:12 PM) after the incident there’s no updates coming in on the Bomb Blast. I searched for this incident on other news portals and didn’t find any reference to such an incident. May be it’s just a hoax or may be has got Read the rest of this entry »

When on Bangalore-Mysore highway…

leave a comment »

There are already existing few amusement parks on Bangalore-Mysore highway (freeway) like Go-Karting, WonderLa, GRS water park (near to Mysore). But there’s this new one, Innovative Film City (God knows why they have ‘film’ in the park name) which has been started very recently, may be on Jan, 28th 2008. Even though the park is not yet built in it’s entirety it’s still drawing huge crowds both adults and children every weekend.

I have described about what I did on International Friendship day in my last post. My friends and me had actually drove on our bikes to Innovative Film City and it hardly took us 45 mins to reach there (we started our ride from RajRajeshwari Nagar on the outskirts of Bangalore). There were no problems in finding this place as throughout the highway we could see signboards guiding use to this place.

There are different variety of themes which suit both Children and Adults. The themes vary from Dino park to Fossil Museum, Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum to Guinness Records Museum, Mirror Maze to Aqua Kingdom (with an artificial beach), Go-Karting to Mini-Golf, and many more. There are still unfinished attractions which are yet to come up like Miniature City, Haunted Mansion, Louis Wax Museum. Apart from these fun attractions there’s also wide variety of food stalls to quench your appetite.

If you’re planning to have tons of fun on a holiday or on a special day you must try IFC once. The mantra is to Read the rest of this entry »

What I did on Friendship Day

leave a comment »

03 Aug 2008 – The first Sunday in the month of August and the world celebrates this day as International Friendship Day. The best way to celebrate International Friendship day is to be with your close friends and have some splendid time throughout the day.

We as a group consist of 6 guys (Madhusudhan, Nitin, Rajshekar, Veeresh, Vijay, and I) who have been very close friends since the time we’d been in college (B.E.) in Raichur, Karnataka. Of the 6, 3 (Madhu, Nitin, Veeresh) got recently married (at most of 1 year period) and coincidentally all their wives were out of town and they were all good married bachelors all these days. There were no special plans for this special day except we decided to meet at Nitin’s place a day before evening.

As decided we all gathered at Nitin’s place by 9 PM and the fun time began from there… We finished our dinner and then started talking on different topics starting from being married vs being bachelor and also things like how life changes after getting married – we’d 3 experienced masters in this area who were giving total gyan (with sarcasm) to yet to be married bachelors 😉 All this went on till late night 2 AM and later Read the rest of this entry »
